Supercharge Power BI Online is a structured, online training course that will help you learn to write DAX, the data modeling language of Power BI. It is created and delivered by world-renowned DAX expert, author of the best selling book Supercharge Power BI and trainer, Matt Allington. The DAX skills learnt are completely transferrable to Excel Power Pivot.
Supercharge Power BI Online training is a combination of
The structured part of the training and learning is delivered in a semester spanning a total of 7 weeks. Each week consists of:
Total hours: 21 hours reading + 5 hours video + 5 hours live Q&A = 31 hours
You can choose any of the 2 books Supercharge Power BI or Supercharge Excel for your learning based on the tool you work. DAX skills are transferable between Power BI Desktop and Excel Power Pivot with the difference being UI. Power BI Desktop is more advanced than Excel in that it might include new DAX functions before Excel. But the DAX concepts remain the same.
It is recommended you do the reading and exercises first and then use the videos to cement your learning. You can then prepare any questions you have prior to the Q&A session. You can email your questions to Matt Allington along with any workbooks used and Matt would take up those questions during the Q&A sessions.
One of the benefits of this style of learning is you get to listen to all the discussion and questions from all the other participants. The Q&A sessions are recorded, and the recordings are shared with you after each session (even if you can’t attend on any given week). You can download the recordings of the live Q&A sessions and keep them for later reference.
Supercharge Power BI Online is built on an annual subscription format. Your registration comes with 12 months of access to the course materials, so you can refer back to the videos whenever you like. Even after the 7-week semester is complete, you will continue to have access to all of the course materials, the online support forum, and future semester Q&A sessions. Read more about this in the Frequently Asked Questions section below.
There are 2 live Q&A sessions that run concurrently during each semester (Group 1 and Group 2), designed to cater for most time zones around the world. The session timings for the upcoming semester based on certain time zones are given below. If your time zone is not shown below, please convert to your time zone based on the time in Sydney, Australia (AEST). Once you register, you will be sent invitation for the Group sessions of your choice.
Be sure to specify which Group you’d prefer (Group 1 or Group 2) in the Order Notes at checkout.
Note: Please be aware of the multiple time differences due to the beginning and ending of Daylight Savings Time around the world.
Before the Q&A session, you can email your questions to Matt@Exceleratorbi.com.au, along with any workbooks you’ve used, and Matt Allington will answer them during the session. The Q&A sessions are recorded, and the video recordings are shared with you after each session (even if you can’t attend on any given week). You can download the recordings of the online live Q&A sessions and keep them for later reference.
