How it Works

Upon registration, you will receive access to:

  • Online videos and downloadable course materials. The online videos are recorded by Matt Allington who has the innate ability to explain the complex concepts and help you understand them.
  • Ask Anything Power BI, the bi-weekly (every 2 weeks) live online Q&A calls (1 hour each) with Matt Allington / Jason Cockington.
  • Matt Allington’s books, Supercharge Power BI and Supercharge Excel (digital editions)

It is recommended you

  • view the videos,
  • complete the practice exercises, and the
  • prepare any questions you have prior to the Q&A call.

One of the benefits of this style of learning is you can listen to and learn from all the discussion and questions from other participants, even if you don’t have questions of your own.

You can choose to complete the course material any time based on your availability and time preferences, and you can attend any of the scheduled Q&A calls (see the Live Online Q&A Calls section below for the details).

Live Online Q&A Calls

The 1-hour live online Q&A calls will be held once every two weeks throughout the year.

There are two Q&A calls that run concurrently (Group 1 and Group 2), designed to cater for most time zones around the world.

  • Group 1: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM Australian Eastern Time (Sydney)
  • Group 2: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM Australian Eastern Time (Sydney)

You will receive a Zoom meeting invite for the Q&A calls in an upcoming month before the start of that month, which is for both Group 1 and Group 2. (There are typically 2 or 3 calls per month for both Group 1 and Group 2, making it to about 40 calls per year all together.)

You can attend whichever group call (Group 1 or 2) that you prefer.

You can email your questions along with any workbooks used one or two days earlier and those questions will be taken up during the Q&A call.

The Q&A calls will be recorded, and all the recordings will be shared with you after the call irrespective of whether you could make it to the call or not. You can download these recordings and keep them for your later reference.

How long can videos and Q&A Calls be accessed?

Power BI for the Business Analyst Online is built on an annual subscription basis.

Your access is valid initially for one year, and you can choose to renew it annually at your own discretion.

You will have access to online videos, course materials and the live online Q&A calls for as long as your subscription is active.

(Please see the How Subscription Works section below for more information.)

DAX Books

SCPBI 3rd Edition
Cover of Supercharge Excel

Your registration includes digital copies of Matt Allington’s books, Supercharge Power BI and Supercharge Excel.

You can choose to use either book for your DAX learning. DAX skills are transferable between Power BI Desktop and Excel Power Pivot, with the difference being UI.

Power BI Desktop is more advanced than Excel in that it might include new DAX functions before Excel. But the DAX concepts remain the same.

The books will help you with more illustrations and practice exercises with DAX.

Bonus Gifts with this Course

Access to all the Q&A calls as long as you are subscribed.

Downloadable video recordings of the live online Q&A calls.

Access to the Discussion Forum.

Course Update Log
